UTEP Kinesiology Hosts PE Teacher Workshop
More than 60 elementary, middle and high school physical education teachers brought their “A” game to the TAHPERD (Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) Area 12 Workshop at UTEP on June 9 in Memorial Gym.
PE teachers engaged in fun fitness activities presented by UTEP’s Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) students and the Canutillo, Ysleta, Socorro and El Paso independent school districts. Other presenters included the 100 Mile Club and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Activities included “Dance Party!,” “Balls, Buckets, Sticks and Rhythm,” “4 Line Circuit Training, “Miner Adventure Activities,” “Youth Mental Health First Aid,” “Cross Curricular Activities in PE,” and “Archery Basics.”
UTEP’s Department of Kinesiology and PETE students organized the workshop.
